Connie Colfox Horse Trainer

The images used in this blog are not the ones I will be using for the final show, they are alternates used basically because it seems daft to have a photography blog without images.

I shot Connie in the doorway of her barn on a clear and cold December morning. I wanted to convey the level of trust she and her horses share, so it was important for me to have her hands as close as possible to their faces. I couldn’t use reflectors as the last thing a horse needs when it has a camera in it’s face is a bright flickering light spooking it. Even so it was quite a challenge to capture the image in the very brief seconds when the horse kept it’s head still. Especially as my four year-old son and my dog were playing havoc with the chickens in the barn whilst we were shooting.
